Success Stories:
Hello,
I thought it would be a lovely idea to put on the website some of the success stories from my one to one
consultations and from the workshops.
I hope you enjoy reading the stories, about these remarkable ladies. The effort they have put and are still
putting into their health just goes to show what you can achieve if you look after your health and
especially what you eat and drink.
Do not forget if you want to contact me and would like either a private consultation or come to a
workshop, call me I would love to hear from you
Jean
My name is Doris Flint and in 2001 I was diagnosed with Gallstones. The hospital here in
Spain gave me medication which kept the situation under control, however from time to time I
would get an attack where I had some pains that lasted around an
hour, this however did not deter me from continuing to eat and drink
whatever I wanted immaterial of the consequences!
Then on 9th December 2009 I had a one big wakeup call, I had
severe pains in the top of my stomach going though into my back I
was violently sick for 4 hours and the pains would not go away. I
spent the weekend in a great deal of pain. Me thinking as before that
the pains would soon pass as they always had, but this time no such
luck. The pain just got so bad that my husband had to take me to
the hospital, within an hour I had seen the doctor, had blood tests
and X-rays. I was also very dehydrated from not being able to keep
anything down (not even water) I also had a high fever. I was put on
a drip with some pain relief for about three hours.
I left the hospital, pain free with
a prescription for 3 lots of tablets feeling very sorry for
myself thinking “why didn’t I do something about this
sooner.” (I found out from the tests that I had I was
suffering from Biliary Colic which is related to Gallstones).
Workshops
I have known Jean Sampson for many years, so when she
said she was going to start a workshop for food nutrition
and a healthy life style, I was very interested. I went to the
first one and was hooked. I enjoyed it so much I asked Jean if I could help her in some way so
that I could learn more. So I became Jeans little helper..... Well ok..... Not so little.
I have learned so much about food combining, but the trouble was.... I never really put it into
practise at home, until my last encounter with the hospital.
Jean kept on saying to me if I mentioned I had a bad
stomach “look at what you are eating, if you are not
combining the right foods your stomach is not working
correctly”... how right she was. After my painful weekend,
Jean took time out to come to my home and go though
things with me again. Now I am combining food correctly,
drinking only the occasionally glass of wine and I am on a
low fat diet, no spicy foods also I am drinking more water
and herbal teas.
I have now been painfree for the past four weeks and I feel
fantastic. I have also lost 6 kilos without even trying.
Jean has taken time out every day to Skype me to see how I am and if I have any problems,
she has helped and assisted me all the way though this and for that I will be forever grateful.
A big thank you Jean you are one in a million.

Update March 2010
It is now been 3 months since I had my gallstone attack and I have kept up with my healthy
eating plan with the help of Jean. In the 3 months I have lost 10 kilos (1 stone 8 pounds)
without trying. I have not had any stomach pains, (not even had to take any Rennies of
which I used to eat like sweets every day). My blood pressure is much better and I have been
able to reduce my medication from one tablet to half a tablet daily. I feel so much better; I have
so much more energy, I am sleeping better, my nails are stronger, I am not loosing hair like I
used to. The itching in my inner ear has now completely cleared up; I do not get any rashes on
the back of my neck as I used to do, I can now wear makeup which I could not do before. All of
this because I changed my eating habits, it makes you realise how important this is to your life.

Update October 2010
It’s now been just over nine months since my gallstone attack
and apart from celebrating my birthday and our 25th wedding
Anniversary I have stayed with my healthy eating. With the
help of Jeans cook books, which I have found very useful I
have now lost 2 stone and 6 pounds. Last year I struggled to
lose 1 stone and 4 pounds as I hate dieting, calorie counting
and weighing out food. I do have weeks when I don’t lose
anything but I don’t worry about it anymore or get
disappointed, as Jean keeps telling me I am not on a diet, I’m
healthy eating and the weight is just coming off slowly.
I have been setting myself little goals; every half stone first,
then to get under 11 stone before my daughter came to visit
me in July, done that now, I have been back to the UK which
was a minor glitch, but made me realise I need to keep to my
change of diet as I was not well with the food I had eaten. My
next coal is to get down to 10 stone before Christmas and to
come off my blood pressure tablets. My weight is 10 stone 12
pounds, a big drop from 14 stone 8 pounds at my heaviest. I
have dropped 4 dress sizes and a shoe size since December
and feel great about myself.
I have found that going to Jean’s workshops, whether it is
helping her in the kitchen or sitting in and listening to all the
information she has to give, has been very worthwhile

"I originally booked an appointment with jean because I was out of balance, overweight and feeling low
after a long winter and needed advice as to how I could get back on track.
Within nearly two months I have now been guided back to
balance and am trying to continue to monitor a healthy eating
lifestyle and learning that eating healthily doesn’t necessarily
mean being on a diet and that cooking doesn’t mean being
greedy and always thinking about food!
I now have a great selection of healthy eating recipes and as I
work full time and hardly have time to cook I cook in batches so
that I can be sure to have healthy food around me at all times. I
have cut down on the alcohol but also learned that I can actually
have a glass of wine or two after a hard week of work without
raiding the biscuit cupboard and that losing weight doesn’t
happen over night, but with a healthy eating plan, moderate
exercise and the correct attitude it does happen!.
I have finally found my balance and hope that I can continue on the correct healthy path thanks to jean.
It is great to know that she is there if I have any doubts or problems along the way - so thank you jean
for all of your help, I now feel like me again!"
My name is Malene Heffernan and I would like to tell you my story.
When I first started my one to one sessions with Jean I was overweight, had high cholesterol & liver
counts, felt really down & didn't like myself at all.
Since having these sessions & attending the monthly workshops I have learnt to follow a much
healthier lifestyle and have been much more active. My cholesterol/ liver counts are down, so much so
in fact, my doctor has taken me off medication. I have lost weight, feel great and actually like myself
again. I approached my 60th birthday, running, and at present feel there is nothing I cannot achieve.
I would certainly recommend the workshops to anyone who wants to change their lifestyle, be
healthier and happier. I will continue to attend them as they are packed with information and great fun
too.
The one to one sessions were so helpful and strictly confidential. I learnt so much, not just about
healthy living but about myself as well, through positive thinking and listening to my body.
I thank Jean so much for all her hard work and patience with me. Without her help I couldn't have
achieved so much.
Footnote
Hi Jean this is the results from seeing the doctor today. (dec 2009)
My Cholesterol is right down to 173 has not been that low for over 5 yrs. My bad LDL down to 106, my
HDL is down as well. My liver is right down to 54 was 74. Doctor thought it was great that I had lost
weight and am doing Pilates and lots of walking thanks for your input with this. I also told him I've
been trying to keep to your healthy eating plan and he thought that was good. I'm now off my
medication for 3 months when I go back for another blood test to see what has happened. The doctor
said if my cholesterol is still down he will reduce or even keep me off the medication.
